Rand’s career began in 1990 at one of Rhode Island’s oldest and finest establishments, Capriccio. He acted as restaurant manager of Capriccio’s sister restaurant, Café Nuovo, and in 1999, was promoted as General Manager.
In 2000, Rand accepted a position as Culinary Arts Instructor for Johnson & Wales University, where he supervised special events for the university’s corporate sponsors including Pepsi Corporation, Ritz Carlton Hotels and Coors Brewing Company. Additional credits include opening The Spiced Pear restaurant at “The Chanler at Cliffwalk” boutique hotel in Newport as Director of Food & Beverage, serving as General Manager of 22 Bowen’s Wine Bar & Grille and being promoted to the New Property Development Department of Newport Restaurant Group after acting as General Manager of the company’s Providence establishment, Waterman Grille.
Rand serves as Vice President of Operations of Thee JT Food Ventures and General Manager of Eleven Forty Nine. He lives in Middletown, RI with his wife, Heather, and their two sons, Nico and Nolan.
