WARWICK, Rhode Island – July 30, 2008

Eleven Forty Nine Restaurant voted “Best New Restaurant” and “Best Neighborhood Restaurant” on July 29th 2008 at RI Monthly’s Annual Best of Party. The award ceremony was held at the Providence Performing Arts Center with over 700 guests in attendance. Eleven Forty Nine was one of over 300 “Best of” recipients.

RI Monthly writes in the August 2008 issue:

“What does upscale dining paired with down-home manners, ample parking and nearly 300 seats get you? The well-earned prize of RI’s best neighborhood restaurant (and we’re not just talking about the residents of East Greenwich). Diners from all over the state continue to choose 1149 as their destination spot for romantic dinners, birthday fetes or just a drink at the behemoth bar because the surroundings are mature enough for adults, welcoming enough for kids and, with Jules Ramos in the kitchen, the food appeals to everyone.”

Eleven Forty Nine Restaurant was named for its location at 1149 Division Street, on the Warwick/East Greenwich, RI line. Eleven Forty Nine Restaurant, which gives guests a distinctive city-dining experience in a suburban setting is owned by culinary arts veteran, Thomas Wright, and long-time friend and New England real estate land developer, John Picerne.
